This Week on the Farm!!

This Week on the Farm This week on the farm has been a long week, we thought January was a long month, but February has already been longer. This week we changed many things in our lives. The biggest one is going back to Homeschooling. Our five-year-old’s favorite part about that he said recesses out on our snow hills. What a boy thing to say.

Homeschooling is something we have done in the past, and now we are back to what we were doing and looking forward to more family time. Our girls said they are looking forward to spending more time with their animals. Most days, getting home off the bus at 4:30 did not leave enough fun family time. It is something we have greatly missed.

It will take time for me to get everything for our Homeschooling in order, we will have to change our lives around, but that is the beauty of Homeschooling. We can learn anywhere, and so many things can be a lesson. Now on to how the farm is doing this week. Well, the animals are all doing pretty well. They are very much over winter as well. The chickens, geese, and ducks are so ready to run and play in the yard, and they do not enjoy the snow at all. The geese decided they should go flying. What a job that was to put them away. Going to have to trim feathers, so they don’t keep trying to fly away. The goats and cows are always waiting and watching for buckets. Will they have grain, or will they have water in them? It is a race to the house with the empty buckets, who will make it first the Boots or the Hooves ha-ha.

I was walking down a snowdrift and had a goat help me down the hill. Oh, that was a hard and cold landing, but she sure thought she was funny. She looked at me like, umm, you were too slow, so I helped you down. Our new Billy Ted has finally decided he likes us and has stopped running behind all our buildings and is now happy with the ladies in the barn and around the hay for dinner dates. He even kissed Skye on the cheek; she was not impressed with that part, but we are so happy he has finally decided he likes us.

Two of our cats went for a not-fun ride to the dumpster with Michael this week. He thought some garbage was flying around, but nope, it was a cat jumping up and not knowing what was happening. So he stopped and got him, and then at the dumpster, he found another cat hiding under the sacks. Silly animals’ pickups are not for animals. Did you know goats love Bananas and Banana peels? It is so funny to watch the goats fight with the pigs when we throw out Banana peels after breakfast.
